YESSSSS, #lifegoals
This has been one of my favorite films/TV episodes of any genre of all time. My brothers and I grew up watching this over and over again -- my folks had taped it from TV when it first aired. I think someone in my family owns the DVD box set, but this episode at least has different music... a great shame.

A truly great ear you have there, as the different music is pure misery to me... but not because the current score is bad in any way... just that the original score is incredible and mixed with the memories. We own a version with the original music, thankfully

Rot we must be twins separated at birth. I just purchased the box set of Tales from the Darkside yesterday and stayed up late last night watching the first DVD. The very first episode (pilot) was the one titled ‘Trick or Treat’ and it definitely reminded me of you (he had a tricked-out house filled with handmade Halloween props). As a kid I remember watching Tales and Friday the 13th the Series on TV back in the 80’s and then wanting to try and make my own horror movies using my dad’s old super 8 video camera.

A series I loved watching during my teenage years. The first ever Tales From The Darkside episode I ever saw was "I'll Give You A Million" and I had stumbled upon it changing channels on a weekend afternoon, I believe the show aired on WPIX Channel 11 out of NY in the area I grew up in. I became hooked and began watching on a regular basis. My favorite episodes include "Trick or Treat", "A Case of the Stubborns", "Strange Love","The Circus", "Monsters in My Room" but my all time favorite episode is "Halloween Candy". I also enjoyed the follow-up series "Monsters" as well, although the scare factor wasn't quite as good. Tales From The Darkside was truly inspirational. "Trick or Treat" and "Monsters in My Room" both had witches in them which to me were definitive examples of what a yard haunt witch prop should look like.

Watched it. Good stuff. 80's demon effects scare the scrap out of me.

"we won't be rich, driving from philly every month at 3am"...!!!<333333
awwwww, the grandpops from Lost Boys, love that actor so much. Gideon Hackles makes Ebenezer look like a care bear!!! omg & the props in this ep are priceless, love the long fangy teeth on both. i REALLY wonder what happened to them. beauties.

gahhhhh this series....another wonderful gift from George Romero.
& soooooo perfect that this ep was the pilot & aired in October. can't get any better than that. i think the opening sequence of this series is one of the most beautiful & chilling sequences ever in both tv & film. just amazing. when we watched George's..Season of the Witch recently, i kept thinking how beautiful & simple the cinematography was. all the tree footage really felt like a prelude to the Tales from the Darkside opening. so organic & lovely!!

so many great eps. i LOVE the one written by Clive Barker.."The Yattering & Jack", it's his homage to CS Lewis's "Screwtape Letters" the Clives...my favourite men. Tales from the Darkside & Friday the 13th (the series) are the BEST of the Best. awhile ago, we picked up both series, USED online from FYE. & Omg...they were both in minty fresh condition & cheap!!!

Thank You Georgie!!!!! Beautiful man of Horror. with the kindest heart.
