Now Watching: The Game

Loved the intro to this film (currently watching and shocked I had never heard of it before, as it's pretty neat so far)...

i think..i sometimes forget what a great actor Michael Douglas is & then i'll rewatch this opening/film or i'll think of that ep of Will & Grace (Fagel Attraction) where he's the gay detective, who crushes on Will real hard. HAHAHAHAHA!!!..Omg tooooo funny. yeah, this film is pretty perfect & the ending doesn't feel faked out, thanks to Fincher!!! happy ending, but, still with a bite..live life man!!! Fincher IS one of the people that can't do any wrong in my book. his Alien 3 (the extended cut--which is the closest to his original vision, before, they took it away from from & cut it all to shreds) IS my fave of the Alien films. AMD..the old family footage sequence in this film is so beautiful!!!..definitely showcases David's roots as a music video director.

One summer during middle school, a buddy of mine had this and The Frighteners on DVD, and we'd just kind of alternate between watching those two movies whenever we were bored (this was in Saudi Arabia, so new movie releases were few and far between.) As a result, I've seen this thing like, six or seven times. The clown dummy sequence never got any less eerie.

I've always wondered how much would it cost to have them do that to you. How much was the bill?

The bill amount was not shown...but their reactions suggested quite a hefty price tag...well worth it..haha

Yeah, how much to wake up in a coffin in Mexico?
I could use a vacation!

girl6..i agree about douglas. I feel like i took him for granted in the 90s.
but he's one of those natural actors...feels real all the time.

i have to see that director's cut of ALIEN3... I love the theatrical version..so this'll be cool

i think you might really enjoy it. very different & much longer than the theatrical cut. it's very cool to be able to still see the intact story line of Golic (played by Paul McGann the 8th Doctor..haha) & his delusional relationship with the Alien. he views the Alien as a god & himself as it's loyal worshipper & keeper.

& if you get a chance..check out the making of too. Sigourney Weaver & Brian Glover are VERY candid with how the studio really manhandled David Fincher & totally disrespected him. interestingly enough, Brian Glover became like a confidant to Fincher. i don't know what Fincher woulda done without him. & Sigourney speaks very highly of David..says how tormented he was, but, still managed to not only be professional, but, also a gentleman on a daily basis. Fincher totally disowns Alien3. it doesn't exist to him. i have to be honest..i know it's hated & made fun of by a lot of Alien fans, but, man, it's my FAVE. i LOVE the whole Victorian values take. feels so real to me.
